Exchange #3 ⎟ Gift - ideas for your host family

Hey Internet! 

Wie ich in meinem letzten `Exchange´ Post versprochen habe, werde ich euch heute ein paar Ideen für Mitbringsel für eure Gastfamilie geben. 

Ich weiß noch wie ich vor der Herausforderung stand und einfach erstmal überhaupt keine Ahnung hatte, was ich meiner zukünftigen Gastfamilie mitbringen sollte. Man muss sich ja irgendwie dafür erkenntlich zeigen, dass sie einen für 3 Monate, 6 Monate, 10 Monate oder sogar ein ganzes Jahr in ihre Familie aufnehmen… Deswegen kann ich verstehen, wenn einige von euch, die vor 

einer Auslandserfahrung stehen, erst mal ein ganz großes Fragezeichen vor Augen haben. 

Ich meine, man kennt seine Gastfamilie noch nicht wirklich, was es

besonders schwer macht, ein passendes Geschenk zu finden. 

Deswegen; here you go! :D 

1. Souvenirs - Das können Schlüsselanhänger, Tassen, Postkarten, … alles mögliche sein, was Bilder, Informationen oder irgendetwas von der Gegen zeigt, wo ihr wohnt. 

Ganz begehrt sind auch immer die Kühlschrankmagneten. ^^ Davon habe ich

meiner Gastfamilie auch  mitgebracht. Der klebt jetzt an ihrem überdimensionalen

Kühlschrank. :) 

2. Bilderalbum - Eure Gastfamilie wird sich sicher auch sehr über ein Bilderalbum von euch und eurem Leben freuen. Da könnt ihr Fotos von euch, eurer Familie, euren Haus-

Tieren, euren Freunden, euren Freizeitaktivitäten, … einkleben. Das finden sie immer 

toll. Hab ich auch gemacht. :) Wichtig ist aber - finde ich -, dass man das Fotoalbum 

selber macht und nicht ein Fotobuch im Internet bestellt. Das wirkt weniger persönlich (meine Meinung;)) Außerdem könnt ihr, wenn ihr gerne kreativ seid, das Fotoalbum 

ganz nach eurem Geschmack gestalten. Das macht es dann umso persönlicher.

3. Tassen mit Fotos - Man kann ja im Internet alles mögliche mit Fotos bedrucken lassen. Ich würde zwar keine Decke oder Kissen mit Fotos von euch bedrucken lassen - so eng 

seid ihr ja noch nicht, als dass eure Gastfamilie nachts mit euch 

kuscheln möchte.. - aber Tassen sind immer ein schönes Mitbringsel. 

4. Süßigkeiten - Informiert euch vorher, welche Süßigkeiten sie in eurem Gastland haben, oder besser: welche sie nicht haben. (Fast) jeder fährt auf Süßes ab. Eure Gastfamilie sicher auch. 

Ich habe meiner Gastfamilie einfach kiloweise Haribos, Milka, Rittersport, und alles

mögliche an deutschen Süßigkeiten mitgebracht und sie waren begeistert! 

Das war ratzfatz weg und meine Eltern "mussten" noch 2 weitere male Pakete mit deutschen Leckereien packen. Ihre Lieblinge waren diese Nimm2 soft Kaubonbons, 

wo diese fruchtige Masse drin ist und die im Mund so lustig poppen. :D 

5. Bilderband von eurer Heimat - mit einigen lustigen/interessanten Fakten sogar noch besser. Dann haben sie eine Idee davon, wo ihr lebt. Die meisten (so war es jedenfalls in den USA)

finden die deutsche Architektur total toll und freuen sich immer über Bilder.

6. typisch (deutsche?) Rezepte - entweder selbst gemacht oder gekauft. Eine   Sammlung an Rezepten, die typisch sind für eure Heimat, ist immer gern willkommen. Ich habe auch eins gekauft.

Leider weiß ich nicht mehr welches Buch ich gekauft habe, 

a ber ich habe öfter man was daraus gekocht für meine Gastfamilie.

7. Spiele - Viele Spiele gibt es ja auf der ganzen Welt, aber wenn ihr eins kennt, was es nur hier gibt, dann bringt das mit! Jede Familie (vor allem amerikanische) veranstalten gerne lange 

Spieleabende und freuen sich sicher, wenn sie etwas neues aus-

probieren können. 

8. Individuelle Geschenke - Ihr könnt auch vorher nachhaken, was für Interessen eure Gastfamilie hat. Meistens steht das ja auch in den "Applications" die ihr von 

eurer Gastfamilie bekommt. Da wird es sicher einfacher etwas zu finden, 

was dem Einzelnen gefällt. 

Das wären so meine Vorschläge. Vielleicht habt ihr ja noch ein paar, die hier nicht gelistet sind. Schreibt sie doch in die Kommentare, damit andere auch etwas davon haben. :) 

Ich hoffe, die Liste hat euch ein wenig geholfen oder vielleicht einfach inspiriert und ihr habt jetzt ganz neue Ideen. Würde mich interessieren! :)

Hey Internet! 

I told you I would make a post about gifts for your future host family. And today is the day! :D I know how hard it is to find something good. I mean I went through that myself. That´s why I thought I could give you some advice, since I can tell you what I gave to my host family. 

So, here you go! 

1. Souvenirs - Souvenirs can be cups, key chains, post cards, … pretty much anything that has something todo with your home country. Even magnets for the fridge.^^

I gave my host family some post cards with pictures of the city I live in and

1 or 2 magnets. All of them are sticking on their fridge now. :D 

2. Photo Albums - I am sure your host family would love a photo album with pictures of yourself, your family, your friends, your sports,… anything that tells them more about

you! I made one and they liked it! They looked at the pictures over and over

and over again. 

3. Cups with pictures - you know, those Cups with a printed photo? You can order them anywhere on the internet. They look nice and they can actually be used. ;) I know, there 

is a lot of other stuff you can print pictures on, like pillows or blankets, but I am 

not quite sure if you and your host family are that close yet, that they would

want to cuddle with a blanket version of you at night. ;D 

4. Candy / Sweets - (Almost) everyone likes candy. I Don´t know anyone who dosen´t. So inform yourself about the candy they have in your future host country and buy candy 

that you have in your country. Your host family is going to love it! 

Since I am from Germany, I brought loads and loads of Haribo, Milka chocolate, …

It was gone reeaaally quickly and my family in Germany "had to" send two more 

packets of candy. Their favorite was a candy called Nimm2 soft (would be: Take two soft) and 

it is something like a fruit-flavored taffy with some edible gel in it and it pops

when you bite on it. It is really good and fun to eat. ^^

5. A book about your home country - with many many pictures and maybe some interesting and funny facts or quotes. So they have an idea of where and how you live.

6. recipe book - you can make it yourself or buy it, it is always something they will like. I mean, who dosen´t want to try the national dishes of a different country? I bought 

one for my host family and they liked it. The recipes where written in english of course.

7. Games - Who dosen´t love trying out new games? Most of the games are international, but if you know one they Don´t have in your host country, bring it!

8. Individual Gifts - You can always ask them what kind of stuff they like and buy something related to that.

Hey Internet! 

How are you guys?! I know, I haven´t exactly been posting a lot lately. So sorry for that. 

I just got home from school (it is almost 7pm now...) and I still have some school work to do, so I do not have very much time today, but I thought a "link-party" would be fun. I am just going to share with you some really cool links and pages that I discovered. Sounds good? Okay, here you go.. :)

We have mood swings and it annoys us just as much as it annoys you (probably even a million times more!). We didn´t choose this. And while we are bleeding and having cramps and moodswings where we are first happy and in the next moment we are sobbing like a baby, I bet almost every woman at least once wished she was a guy and thought about everything she would happily do just to get rid of her f***ing period. BUT in the end we are thankful for being a woman and for having our period because without all this, we wouldn´t be able to get pregnant and give birth to many many beautiful children. Which men can´t do. Hahaha.

I just can´t get enough... // Wunschliste 2015 #1

Hey Internet!

Nachdem ich im Urlaub Snowboard fahren gelernt habe, bin ich erstmal

im Internet auf die Suche nach Snowboards und allem möglichen Zubehör gegangen. 

Und dann dachte ich mir, ich könnte euch ja mal zeigen, was auf meiner 

Wunschliste so alles drauf steht, weil ich solche 

Post auch bei anderen Bloggern eigentlich total gerne lese.

After I started snowboarding last week on vacation, I looked for some snowboard gear and
equipment. And while doing that, I was thinking I could show you what´s currently
on my wish list.
Since I enjoy reading posts like this, I figured you would, too.
:D

1. & 2. Smoothie Maker & a Crèpe maker - This one is from Amazon.com. I love Smothies and always wanted to have one. Same with the crèpe maker.

3. Samsung Galaxy S5 - My iPhone 4 is probably not going to last much longer, so I started looking for a new phone. I am not sure yet if I want to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S6 or not..

What do you think? 

4. & 5. A punching bag and Gloves - You know, I started kick boxing a couple of weeks/months ago and I would love to have this in my room to practice and to let of steam 

when I am mad.. haha^^. 

6. & 7. Sweater - Yeah, not that interesting. You can buy them at Lookbookstore.com.

8. Pole - haha yeah. umm.. I am not going to do pole or table dancing in pubs, I am just in love with the sport. I promise.^^ I think it can be soo beautiful and graceful. I mean, it is dancing. :D

9. Snowboard - Those are some that I like. But I Don´t know if I am going to get one, or if I am going to lend one in winter. 

10. Snowboard equipment - Yeah, not much to say. ^^

Eat. Sleep. Ride. Repeat. // Urlaub im Erzgebirge

Hey Internet! 
Wie geht´s euch? Also mir geht es super! Wir sind zwar leider schon wieder vom Winterurlaub zurück, aber dafür war der echt toll! Wir waren im Erzgebirge in Eibenstock. Da gibt es ein süßes kleines Hotel - Sport und Reithotel Eibenstock -, in dem wir übernachtet haben für ein paar Tage. Ich bin ja mal geritten für viele Jahre und vermisse es total, deswegen hatte ich mich gefreut, dort zu reiten, nur leider waren alle Kurse schon voll besetzt... Naja, ein andermal. :) Dafür sind wir ganz viel Ski gefahren uuuuuunnnddd.... ich habe Snowboard fahren gelernt!!!! ❤ Das war das große Highlight meines Urlaubs. Ich bin zwar jetzt noch lange kein Profi, aber es hat total viel Spaß gemacht! Allerdings tut mein Hintern ein bisschen weh.. hahaha! Ich bin jetzt total im Snowboard-Fieber und würde am liebsten gleich wieder in die Berge fahren um dort zu üben, üben, üben. Nur leider geht das nicht und ich stecke hier zuhause fest, ohne Schnee.
Naja, meckern hilft ja auch nicht. Aber der Winter sollte hier halt langsam mal kommen, Frau Holle. Schnell, bitte, mit ganz viel Schnee!

How are you? I am super good! We just got home from our winter vacation, but it was amazing. We stayed in a cute little sports hotel, where you were able to ski, snowboard, do horseback riding, swimming and any sport you want. I used to have a horse and I really miss riding, so I was looking foward to do it there, but unfortunately all the classes were full... Oh well, some other time, hopefully. :) But we went skiing a lot aaaaaandd... I took a class for snowboarding!!!! ❤ That was the highlight of my vacation. I know, I am far away from being a pro, but it was really really fun! My butt kinda hurts now, but who cares. It was definetely worth the pain.. haha. I am really into snowboarding now and I would love to go back and ride the whole time. But unfortunately that is not possible and I am stuck here, without any snow.
Oh well, complaining won´t make it better... ;D But seriously, I want it to be winter! Please, Frau Holle, let it snow. A lot!

I am in love.. I wish I could stay there forever. Usually I am not that kind of person who enjoys going for walks a lot, but I really enjoyed it there..

Ja, das wars auch schon. Leider hatte ich nicht mehr viele Bilder, da mein Handy mir abgestürzt ist und ich alle neuen Daten, seit dem letzten Backup, verloren habe... :( Das war so ärgerlich. 

Wart ihr auch schonmal im selben Hotel? Wenn ja, wie fandet ihr es? ;) 

Und was findet ihr besser; Snowboarden oder Ski-fahren? Für mich ist es ganz klar Snowboarden!*-*

Places I want to visit… #1, Europe⎟another addiction of mine..

Hey Internet! 

Ich bekomme so langsam das Gefühl, dass dieser Blog ganz schön träumerisch wird.. Ich meine, meine Vorsätze für 2015, jetzt die Länder wo ich hinreisen möchte, irgendwann noch meine Träume und Ziele. Tut mir leid wegen dem ganzen Schmalz..^^
Auf jeden Fall hat mir meine liebe Schwester zu Weihnachten ein Buch geschenkt - 1000 Places to See Before You Die -, weil sie weiß, wie sehr ich gerade am Reisefieber leide, und ihr könnt euch gar nicht vorstellen, was die Welt atemberaubendes zu bieten hat! Als ich mir das durchgesehen habe, hätte ich weinen können, da ich diese schönen Dinge niemals alle anschauen kann. Das sind einfach viel zu viele. ich bin noch nichtmal durch die Hälfte des Buches und man sieht schon mehr Klebezettel als Buch.. Naja.. ich werde es versuchen! :D

1… England - Auf jedenfall noch mal nach England! Dort möchte ich über die Märkte bummeln, Tea trinken mit total britishen Briten mit britishem Akzent und mich selber einfach total

british verhalten. Natürlich geht es nach LONDON zum Buckingham Palace, nach 

CORNWALL in dir Natur, nach MAIDSTONE, zum "schönsten Schloss der Welt" und nach SOMERSET,

um mich dort in den heißen Quellen zu räkeln… Ein Traum!

2… Frankreich / France - Ein klassisches Reiseziel für jeden Reiseliebhaber. Für mich bedeutet das: an die SMARAGDKÜSTE DER BRETAGNE zu fahren mit dem grün-blauen Meer, den

Mooren und steilen Klippen. Für mich bedeutet das: Paris zu besuchen, die 

wahrscheinlich schönste und romantischste Stadt der Welt, den ARC DE TRIOMPHE zu sehen, den TOUR EIFFEL zu "besteigen", den LOUVRE und den CIMETIERE DU PERE - LACHAISE, den 

meistbesuchten Friedhof der Welt, zu sehen. Außerdem darf der Notre Dame natürlich nicht

unbesucht bleiben, auch nicht der MARCHE AUX PUCES DE ST-OUEN, ein Muss für jeden

Flohmarktliebhaber.

3… Irland / Ireland -  Ich weiß nicht genau was es ist aber irgendetwas zieht mich ganz gewaltig nach Irland… Vielleicht sind des die Irish Folk Festivals, vielleicht die Küste des COUNTY CLARE, 

eines der meistfotografierten Naturwunder Irlands, vielleicht ist es auch die "wilde

Schönheit" CONNEMARA oder aber auch DINGLE PENINSULA in COUNTY KERRY, mit den vielen kleinen hübschen Geschäftchen und Pubs. Des weiteren habe ich 

vor auf der 180km langen

Küstenstraße RING OF KERRY überwältigende Ausblicke auf Land, Meer und Himmel zu

genießen, welche ich jetzt nur von Fotos kenne.

Giant´s Causeway, Nordirland

4… Niederlande/ Netherlands - Auch so ein Reiseziel wo fast jeder den ich kenn schon einmal war, nur ich nicht. Jedenfalls in AMSTERDAM, dort natürlich dann ins Anne Frank Haus und 
sowieso durch die ganze Stadt. Außerdem ist ein Ziel in den Niederlanden
Maastricht.

3… Österreich / Austria - Ob ihr es glaubt oder nicht; ich war noch niemals in meinem Leben in Österreich. Deswegen steht das auch auf der Liste. Ich bin zwar schon mal Ski gefahren (aber auch
erst einmal), aber das war während meines Auslandsjahres. Außerdem möchte ich
mal die Festspiele auf der schwimmenden Bühne am Ufer des Bodensees sehen! Das stelle
ich mir unglaublich schön vor… Und dann geht es noch nach Wien! Natürlich. <3 am="" br="" im="" liebsten="" nbsp="">Winter, denn da soll es einen tollen Weihnachtsmarkt geben.


4… Griechenland / Greece - Dort werde ich mir in Athen den Parthenontempel ansehen, die schöne Insel Mykonos, die spektakulärste Insel Santorin und natürlich das Orakel
in Delphi. Zum Schluss geht es noch auf einen langen Spaziergang an der Promenade in Nafplio.

5…Ungarn/ Hungary - Wie wahrscheinlich jeder der irgendwann mal nach Ungarn reist, möchte ich nach Budapest. Auch schon wegen der Thermalquellen! ^^

6… Island / Iceland - Das ist ein Ziel, was im Moment ganz weit oben auf meiner Liste steht! Da wollte ich schon lange mal hin und werde das auch ganz bestimmt tun!
Ich liebe ja Islandpferde und bin auch ganz lange geritten, deswegen bin ich neugierig
geworden auf das Land. Die Sprache würde ich auch total gerne sprechen. :)
Die Landschaft dort sieht ja auf Fotos schon atemberaubend aus! Mit den unendlichen grünen Weiten, den
atemberaubenden Wasserfällen und und und. Ein Land meiner Träume! Ich stelle mir dann immer
vor, auf einem Islandpferd durch die Natur zu reiten, tagelang, die schöne Natur bewundern zu können… perfekt! Und am besten gleich da bleiben.




7… Schweden / Sweden - Ich habe in meinem schlauen Buch ein Bild von den Nordlichtern gesehen und es sah so toll aus.. jetzt will ich da unbedingt hin!!

Das war Teil 1… haha da gibt es nämlich noch seeeeehr viel mehr! Das waren ja noch nicht mal alle Orte in Europa die ich besuchen möchte!
Träumen ist doch schön.. ;) Schreibt mir in den Kommentaren, welche Orte in Europa ihr gerne besuchen möchtet! Und bitte gebt mir doch ein wenig Feedback, sodass ich weiß, ob ich die Serie weiter führen soll oder was ich verbessern kann. Das wäre toll. <3 br="" nbsp="">Bis dahin, xoxo Anika

like to see some time.
